New Drinking Game
Whenever someone close by mentions “twitter”, hit them with a bottle of booze. ~ reddit
Just because you have Twitter or Facebook or an iPhone, that does not make you technical, “hip,” or in the know. I can’t stand the conversations I hear regarding these topics. You want to talk about jailbroken iPhones, fine, count me in, otherwise I don’t care what app you downloaded recently or what your high score is on the game. I’m not good at video games. I’ve accepted this. However, I am not all that ashamed of being bad at video games. I’ll take it as a compliment.
Dear Facebook and Twitter users, this is not a forum for you to bitch and whine. I don’t want to hear it. There is no need for you to broadcast “I’m having a bad day” or “I’m upset.” Post content and not vague statements. This is my warning. Not that you’re going to read this, but this is just so I can reference this post when you ask why we aren’t friends on FB or I’m not following you. At the end of the day, your life is not all that bad. Sack up.
Twitter is becoming spam
If you don’t know what Twitter is you have probably been living in a cave for the last month. Twitter hype is through the roof. Everyone is tweeting and following other tweeters. At what point is it just spam? While this site is still in the process of finding its niche, I don’t feel it has reached its full potential. People have come up with creative ways to incorporate it into their everyday lives but in that process it has lost its appeal. You have washing machines tweeting when the loads are done. You have Ashton Kutcher tweeting every hour on a CNN twitter race. It is becoming too much of a chore and there is point when you get information overload.
I have two solutions for people using twitter.
- Create a blog and if people want to “follow” you, setup an RSS feed.
- Use email.
I recently saw on channel 7 Oprah is going to be talking about Twitter with Ashton Kutcher. Do we really need that demographic tweeting? No, really? This is just getting out of hand. Just like when the baby boomers starting infiltrating facebook. Yes, it’s cool you are learning new technologies and portals, but it’s like when you are at a club and there’s the older guy there creeping out the girls. See it’s funny at first but when the retirement home ends up showing up at the club, it’s time to find a new club.
iPhone App Review: PushMod
As I was going through the recent updates of Cydia I noticed a new application called PushMod.
The details say “PushMod gives you the option to choose 1 minute push time and allows you to turn any mailbox into a push mailbox. Please note you won’t see a program on your springboard this just modifies the push file.”
The install was fast and did not require springboard to restart. I accessed the settings in the Settings menu under the Fetch New Data Menu. Under the Fetch option you set to Every 1 Minute. That’s it! You know have pseudo push mail on any of your mail accounts. It would only make sense that this will use slightly more battery power checking every minute but I don’t forsee it being that noticeable. Working in IT, the benefits for me far outweigh the potential downsides. I will continue to test it out and keep this review updated.
Country Pleasure Driving Class Gone Wrong
So as I was surfing around on Reddit I found this link. Now this I thought could be a little funny at first but the more I watched it, I realized it was pretty scary. I’ve been around a horse, named Stormy, before that would just take off when she was turned out and she would just run and run and it wasn’t good because she would get sweaty and I guess that isn’t good for horses.
So here is the first video
then in the comments someone posted this:

which I thought was an ingenious idea for a website.
… and then someone posted this which I thought was more fitting but so wrong. It’s one of those laughs where you feel guilty

It’s bad because I had to rewatch them again.
P.S. I love horses and wish no harm against them.
On the way to work…
On the way to work this morning, I’m driving with Jeff down the street and a minivan pulls out in front of me, so I change lanes and no big deal. Well next thing you know I have a minivan tailgating me all the way to the freeway. I continue to to drive the same since I’m not sure what’s up his ass. There are two lanes to get on the freeway and he attempts to pass me in a lane with traffic up ahead and as he flies by me he flips me off. All I can do is laugh at this point, and smile and wave as I pass him in slowed traffic. It’s the morning people, slow down and no street racing. Ever since I first moved to Yorba Linda, I get hit up all the time in my car, people asking to race me, or speeding thinking we’re racing or crazy people in minivans flipping me off. I know you think I must have done something to provoke these events but I don’t. I drive normal in this town because there are police hiding everywhere and too many young kids street racing. I don’t need that kind of trouble. Anyways, that is my morning story. Slow down people and chill the eff out.
iPhone Applications Won’t Load
So for the last couple days I was unable to load any applications on my iPhone. Apple Apps mainly since my Cydia Apps worked fine. I should let you know my iPhone is jailbroken with the latest firmware 2.2.1. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many different Cydia apps since that is where I thought my problem was. I eventually just ran a backup of my iPhone then reflashed it using QuickPwn. About 10 minutes later, it loads up and I try to launch my sports app, and what do you know, it won’t load. So one more google search and i find another tip that actually helped. Install an application from the App Store and then run it. After that your applications should load up. Rebooots always seem to help also in case you didn’t try that yet.
Giving it another try
So after mltiple attempts of creating a blog and actually posting to it, I took some time off and have reached the time when I’m going to try it again. That sentence didn’t make that much sense but it doesn’t really matter since no one reads this. I would constantly run out of topics I would like the whole world to see so I would eventually stop posting. Right now I just don’t care too much anymore. I’m going to focus on random things going on in my life, tech news, iphone information, jailbreaking iphone information, tutorials, and virus info. At least that is what is on my mind today.
